I’ve always known that astronomy would be a part of my life. However, the struggles that math courses offered convinced me that it would be a hobby. The STEM courses I took as a freshman inspired me to pursue astronomy because I proved my capacity to myself.

I plan on getting a Ph.D. in astronomy and pursuing a career in research. Additionally, I’d like astronomy and science outreach to be a facet of my job or an activity I take up in my free time.

One of my favorite accomplishments to talk about is my work as a Physicist Inspiring the Next Generation (PING) mentor this summer during my REU with the NRAO. Back at Bucknell, I’m doing research on the star UV Ceti because it has produced fascinating data.

This scholarship is important to my success as a student because it allows me to more fully explore different academic opportunities that may further my education and career without worrying as frequently about fees and expenses.

TEAM-UP Together Scholarship Recipient in 2024 and 2025.
