DaeShaun Gibbs

I’ve always been fascinated and interested in astronomy ever since I was a child. My family fostered this creativity through the purchase of a telescope and a variety of books that discussed various topics surrounding space.

I plan to attend graduate school and attain a doctorate in astrophysics. Afterwards, I’d like to work in the private sector or at a university conducting research and teaching.

Currently, I’m with the physics and astronomy club. We’ve worked with a variety of astrophysicists and assisted them in exoplanetary research. It is a wonderful opportunity to work with these brilliant scientists in their research.

Receiving this award proves that you can accomplish what you desire through hard work and perseverance. It’s a difficult field that expects a lot out of you. I want to prove my efforts aren’t going to waste.
