Deonte Mackie

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been interested in how things work and operate, which ultimately led to my wanting to major in physics.

I plan to either go into industry or go to graduate school to pursue research in particle cosmology.

I have been part of a cosmology research group at Purdue Northwest for two years. We are researching dark matter in galactic clusters using real data and simulations that we have created.

The field of physics is special to me. Receiving a scholarship that supports people who look like me in that field feels honorable, to say the least.
