I am most passionate about what we can learn from our environment, whether that's from our atmosphere or the billions-year old collisions between supermassive black holes, and how we can apply that knowledge to better steward the planet.

I have always been passionately curious about the way things work and drawn to the mysteries of the cosmos. I wanted to be an astrophysicist since I was little and participated in the young astronauts club at my elementary school.
After I graduate with my associate’s degree, I plan to transfer to a research-focused university where I can obtain a baccalaureate degree in astrophysics. My goal is to research plasma physics from lightning to stars to advance clean, safe energy. Last year, I kept a 4.0 GPA, won a spot on First Team in the All-California Academic League, and interned at NASA-JPL and Caltech. Over the summer, I was a T.A. for an Earth Scope workshop and participated in Las Cumbres Observatory astronomy research.
As a single mom and high school dropout, this scholarship helps keep me supported so I graduate, something I never thought possible.
