I have always loved math and thought that the application of math in astronomy was exciting in 8th grade. Then, after taking physics classes in high school, I knew this would be a career path with never-ending learning.
I would love to continue my education in graduate school. Still, with the current administration’s cut in funding, it’s hard to predict the quality of research that will be happening in a year. Regardless, I will eventually get my master’s.
I co-authored a paper with my professor on his paper in the journal Small Science in 2023. I attended the Partnership for Research and Education in Materials-Future Leaders in Advanced Materials internship at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and I attended the AIM Photonics internship in Albany, New York.
Receiving this scholarship award is impactful because it will allow me to finish my bachelor’s degree without the added stress of having payments due, and it will also allow me to continue going to the doctor so I can help with my chronic pain.
