My interest in physics was sparked by the possibilities of making explorations in science. In high school, I really enjoyed learning physical theories. I’ve always wanted to contribute to science, and physics opened my mind to thinking beyond the surface level.
I love learning about how cells generate force, how quantum effects shape enzyme function. It’s fascinating to decode biological systems through the precision of physical laws.
I would like to pursue graduate school to continue research. As a dual math and physics and biology major, with a concentration in biomedical sciences, I want to explore a field that aligns closely with both my majors. I love science, so I’ll continue on that path.
I am currently researching nanoparticle materials and laser applications in the sintering of compounds, which I think is really cool since I haven’t used lasers before. I’m excited to see how much lasers cause physical alterations in the materials.
The TEAM-UP Together scholarship has empowered me greatly as a woman in science and physics. It excites me to receive an opportunity that has opened more doors for me as I continue to pursue my physics and science career.
