Astronomy & Physics, University of Washington
From the moment I was introduced to the ideas of searching for Earthlike worlds, I became completely engrossed in that field. Because of this, I joined my very first research project and that experience instilled in me a love for research.

Jerusalem Sintayehu
Ever since my first introductory course in middle school, I’ve had a deep fascination for astrophysics.
I enjoyed learning of various theories and their influence on modern-day discoveries and my curiosity motivated me to learn more.
Research is what lies at the core of all my academic aspirations. That’s why in the next few years, I really hope to gain a deeper understanding of the field of Astronomy as a graduate student working in exoplanet research.
This scholarship is life changing because it allows me to dedicate my attention entirely onto my education without being burdened by financial challenges. It gives me the freedom to solely focus on my research and academic growth.
