Nonso Duaka Headshot

I chose physics because I fell in love with proteins and how physics can model them. Using physical principles to study proteins and small molecules excites me, especially in advancing computational drug discovery and improving healthcare.

I’m passionate about the way physics uncovers the rules of nature, from the smallest particles to the vastness of space. The elegance of these principles excites me and drives my curiosity to keep asking “why” and “how.”

I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in machine learning, with a focus on physics-informed models that advance biologics as therapeutics. My goal is to combine physics and computation to create better solutions for drug discovery.

I interned with Merck and Rosetta Commons, leaders in physics-based computational protein modeling. I worked on machine learning pipelines for protein design, gaining hands-on experience at the forefront of computational biology.
