I am really passionate about being able to think critically about the challenge that comes with physics. Things are not easy, and I really like the fact that I have to take the time to sit and figure things out.

I was first called to my major because I had a deep interest in astronomy, and that was all I knew about physics at the time. Once I joined the department and saw all that I could do, my mind immediately changed, and I found a connection to physics.
I plan to continue to graduate school for a Ph.D. in meteorology or atmospheric physics.
I have recently completed an REU at the University of Washington, where I modeled the maximum geothermal flux constraint in ice rises in Antarctica. I am currently working in the climate science division at Morgan State University on a new project.
Receiving this scholarship allows me to focus strictly on school and research. It significantly lessens my financial burden and just lets me be as stress-free as I can be.
