Sun Knox
I'd like to see if I can perfect our understanding of habitability and be a catalyst for growth in the field.
Sun Knox Headshot
I have always loved space and science since I was a little girl. My curiosity about the cosmos only grew as I did as well. I chose to study astrophysics to learn as much as possible about the ever-growing universe around us.
I am most passionate about exoplanet habitability and what we can learn about potential life on other strange, new worlds.
I intend to continue to graduate school and to pursue my Ph.D. in astrobiology with a focus on chemistry at the University of Washington.
I, along with my team, won first place in the 2021 NASA MINDS competition for our research and prototype for an underground lunar greenhouse for the Artemis mission. Currently, I’m conducting my own research under the Landolt mission on habitability.
This scholarship is important and impactful for me because I would be one step closer to achieving my dreams as a first-generation college student and scientist. My dream is to take my family’s legacy to space with me so we can all touch the stars.
