Currently, I am most interested in the collapse of massive stars/supernovae, the elements that make up and follow these events, and detection methods of exotic matter that could potentially help us see past the cosmic microwave background.

My passion for physics and astronomy began with a childhood curiosity about the nature of the universe. My mother and my favorite authors introduced me to the mystery that is the world around us, and I wanted to try to more deeply understand it.
I hope to continue in a graduate program that might allow me to be a part of research projects on the cutting edge of observational astrophysics and eventually teach undergraduate community college students pursuing any of the general sciences.
I am currently involved in assembling a JOVE 2.0 radio telescope with my university. It is a low-frequency analyzation project that facilitates the collection of spectrographic data from the Earth’s ionosphere, the Sun, Jupiter, and the Milky Way.
For a time, I came to believe that the university levels of my interests would be too difficult to achieve due to deteriorating self-motivation and intensive financial stress. This award alleviated any concern I had regarding my value as a student.
