My story

I love extragalactic astrophysics, since it studies the universe at a large scale. The juxtaposition of quantum mechanical processes (emission lines, for example) with relativistic ones (redshift) and other such means by which physics manifests itself, despite having contradictory theories, fascinates me. Breaking down my reality into fundamental understandings has kept me endlessly engaged with trying to learn more.

My goal is to do post-graduate studies in Japan, making use of my multicultural background and Japanese Language minor to conduct research in astrophysics abroad. I would like to bridge connections between scientists alongside being at the forefront of research. I aim to have a Ph.D. in astrophysics and be part of a research team or lead my own.

I’ve been privileged to see some of the earliest galaxies via UA’s JWST data access in 2022. (I am a JADES member who conducted a transient search in Dr. Eiichi Egami’s group.) I have also conducted research at UW-Madison via an REU where I was introduced to galaxy evolution and studying spectra via coding.
