Cristopher Thompson
Cristopher Thompson is a Ph.D. candidate in Physics at The Ohio State University, where his research combines physics, biology, optical engineering, and computational imaging. His doctoral work focuses on developing advanced three-dimensional microscopy techniques to study biological systems at the nanoscale, spanning optical system design, experimental imaging, and computational image analysis.
During graduate school, Cristopher has also gained experience in teaching, mentoring, scientific leadership, and interdisciplinary research, including work with machine learning and quantitative modeling. He has published as a first author and co-author and is a co-inventor on a patent.
Outside of his research, Cristopher has been actively involved in graduate student mentorship and community-building. His experiences as a graduate student have given him a broad perspective on the opportunities, challenges, and career possibilities that come with pursuing a Ph.D.
