Daniel Rodriguez Hart is the IBM-HBCU Quantum Scholar-in-Residence and a Visiting Research Associate Professor in the department of Physics and Mathematics at Southern University and A&M College. Hart has over 10 years of experience in research and development of quantum materials and devices at NASA. His research focuses on fundamental quantum theory and solid-state spin-based quantum devices. Experimentally, he develops novel quantum sensors for magnetometry and electrometry in the silicon carbide materials platform. Theoretically, he develops quantum simulations of atomic spin defects in solid-state materials and devices. Daniel Hart received a bachelor’s degree in physics, a master’s degree in physics and mathematics with a concentration in high-energy physics from Southern University and A&M College, and a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Hampton University.
