Savaria Parrish

Savaria Parrish is a first-year NSF EGFP Fellow pursuing a Ph.D. in Astrophysics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she studies exoplanet detection using extreme precision radial velocity (EPRV) techniques. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech, where she pursued Planetary Science with minors in both Physics and Astronomy as a full-ride Presidential Scholar. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research with the Brown Dwarfs in New York City (BDNYC) research group - work that earned her the 2025 AAS Chambliss award. Additionally, Savaria has been a UC Santa Cruz Lamat Fellow, a Virginia Tech Curiosity Award recipient, and an APS TEAM-UP Together Scholar. Beyond her research, Savaria serves as the Vice Student Representative for the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) Student Council and as the Engagement Lead for NSBP’s Uplifting Physicists Program.
